Now enjoy your holiday on Indian flavored Swiss mount…

For the past several days my family is planning out our winter holidays because we missed our summer holiday’s this season. We were thinking that can we have something different and which can also accommodate in our budget. Today morning I was thinking let go through the news papers and may find some think interesting. Believe it or not I was going through the newspapers, suddenly a stuck up with a report on TOI.the story was about Tour Operator Cox & Kings.

This is yet another Indian takeover story, albeit with a difference. Tour operator Cox & Kings has acquired a mountain in the heart of the Swiss Alps in a bid to boost outbound tourism from India and boost revenues in the bargain.

The British origin company, which was founded in 1758 and in which the Kerkar family now has majority control, has picked up a mountain in the Lungern-Schonbuel belt of the Swiss Alps in Central Switzerland on long-term lease.

To be branded Mt Cox & Kings, the mountain is being pitched as a destination among Indian tourists through a range of activities including skiing, Swiss folk dances, chocolate making, walking trails, glacier rides. All this topped off with Indian cuisine lending a distinct Indian flavor to the Swiss experience.

“Discovering new destinations is part of our destination promotion activities. The idea behind discovering and marketing new destinations is to provide a new experience to Indian tourists,” Peter Kerkar, global CEO, Cox & Kings said.

Pointing out that this was the first instance of a tour operator branding a mountain, Kerkar said with our own mountain we have the advantage of imparting a distinctly Indian flavor to the entire Swiss experience, particularly among the globetrotting Gujarati community that is very particular about vegetarian food even while on the move.

So guys, isn’t it exiting that you plan your holidays in a beautiful country like Switzerland but with Indian flavor.
