India deserves in G8 – French President
New French President Nicholas Sarkozy feels that India deserves to be the member of G8 group. In a foreign policy statement, Sarkozy has said that India along with China, Brazil, South Africa and Mexico should gradually become members of G8.
According to Sarkozy France will continue to support India with Brazil, Japan and Germany for permanent membership to UN Security Council.
France wants to see the necessary enlargement of the United Nations Security Council in both membership categories. France asks for new permanent members - Germany, Japan, India, Brazil - and a fair representation of Africa Sarkozy said.
