Special trains for womens from Delhi

There is good news for women particularly those who are working. Taking cognisance of harassment, molestation and other inconveniences caused to women during local train journey, the railways have proposed to run all-women special trains from Delhi on certain routes.

The three routes identified for running the Ladies Special Trains are Panipat, Palwal and Aligarh to Delhi and back.

“We have submitted the proposal to the Railway Board for running exclusive trains for women office goers in certain routes,” Sri Prakash, Northern Railway General Manager said.

“The logistic support for the ladies specials is being worked out and we are expecting to run the trains soon,” he said.

About 25,000 women commute to Delhi from the neighbouring areas on working days.
