Eros joins hands with joost.com

According to a Indiantelevision.com report, Eros International has inked a deal with internet TV service www.joost.com to provide it with over 200 Bollywood movies and over 600 music videos from its catalogue.

Joost will feature Bollywood music videos and Indian filmed entertainment through exclusive Eros movies and music video channels.

The catalogue includes films such as 1942-A Love Story and Salaam - E - Ishq.

Joost uses TV content on the internet by offering viewers a full-screen audiovisual experience under a web 2.0 user experience. Joost is an online, global TV distribution platform, bringing together advertisers, content owners and viewers in an interactive, community-driven environment.

On the new media front, Eros already has partners such as Comcast, YouTube and Sky.

“We are very pleased to be a part of Joost and to be able to create Eros-branded music video and movie services,”
said Eros International EVP corporate development and new media Marcus Stuart.

The competiton between Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Indian Idol and Voice Of India is hotting up and so is the bid to grab eyeballs..
In recent weeks different celebrities have being roped into the musical talent shows, who besides boosting the viewership are using the platform to promote their forthcoming releases. Govinda and Anil Kapoor was on Indian Idol, Salman Khan - Lara Dutta, Sajid Khan, Vidya Balan and Fardeen Khan on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Anil Kapoor-Akshaye Khanna on Star Voice of India. Govinda’s episode garnered 5.4 TRPs, the Salman special got 8.4 making it the highest so far this season and Anil Kapoor- Akshaye Khanna brought in a rating of 4.
On an average, the TRPs of all the three are quite close with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa at 5.5 making it the top-rated show on Zee, Indian Idol at 4.5 as the numero uno on Sony and Star Voice at 3.9 on Star Plus, which is driven by soaps .

Unlike RGV’s peculiar dark and gloomy harmonic styling and composure, DARLING brings the euphoric feel of today’s hot “n” happening music that clubs the likes of Himesh Reshammiya and Pritam for the first time in one film album. Prasanna Shekhar, an RGV protégé who made stint presence in his previous flicks D and JAMES creates a furor of a typical dark-thriller through a resounding dark soundtrack. In terms of subjective treatment, the melodic presentation of DARLING sounds somewhat similar to PYAR TUNE KYA KIYA but the sounds and impulse is trendy and fervent.

US seeking groups of all ages and style.After auditions, judges will finalize 10 semifinalists band who will perform in front of live studio audience. The winner will be chosen by public voting system. On pattern of American Idol, Sony television in India started Indian Idol, which has been a great success and currently running its third season. But the question now is that will Sony or any broadcaster inIndia will follow the “The great American band show”
